Review of Turkish Star Wars RipOff

I have got to see Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam

Here’s where the movie goes so far beyond Earth adjectives that it kicked the ass off my face. Darth Vader appears on a hill and blasts at Luke with lasers while he jumps from trampoline to trampoline in the center of a field of yellow smoke grenades. For two minutes, there is a cloud of zero visibility while randomly alternating sound clips from Flash Gordon are mixed with random sections of the Indiana Jones song. It’s amazing. When the smoke clears he’s tearing the giant red monsters in half at the waist, chopping their heads off and kicking his foot through their chests.

there’s no dub in this movie, however if you knew turkish, you would laugh 2 times harder listening it than you did while watching it. unbelievable absurd *forced* mystic words mixed with moronic everyday words.

this movie is in fact a result of the times when film industry as well as art in turkey was too much under state intervention. most films made in that period, except comedy films, are lame, and to this or that extend soulless in the making.

also this film is shown in universities to students when it is time for finals and everybody’s morale is down. it livens up things.

    p.s. : im a turkish.

I watched this movie in Istanbul Besiktas, in a movie theater with another insane Turkish movie immitades ET in 1986. How worse it can get!!! I have instantly declared that I just watched the 2 worst movies ever made in human history and in every movie talk among friends I told them about these 2 movies and their hilarous moments. However, after almost 2 decades later, my most private and incredibly valuable chat gems is becoming world classics in its absurdity.
I am not agree with unity100 about why this movie -or ET- is so bad and its connection to the affairs of state and so on. Anyone knows that it is a well known piracy act to get advantage of a well established brand. This is mostly managed from Istanbul to get the audience in country side to the movie theaters in remote corners of the country by letting them to think that they are about to watch the actual ET or Star Wars. It is say, opening a store with the name Mercy opposite the Mayc’s. Tricking the consumer is the bottom line. Nothing else. And all this has to be done with the minimum budget possible. Actual rip-off is played on innocent Turkish consumer. A strange twist and level of its insanity carrying both movies to stardom nowadays. Remember, there is no bad advertisement.
About the trampoline; This is classic Arkin style. I have watched many Arkin movies which he is a hero against Byzantine Empire. In almost every action movie he made, trampoline jump was his most favored action move. Even his clothing is the same. Tight black pants, sheepskin vest, chest sometimes open sometimes covered with silk shirt. He probably even walked around with this clothes in his actual life.
Arkin is a medicine doctor in reality and passed his high school classes with honors. However, beauty is a terrible thing sometimes that can happen to a man. He is a classic in Turkish movie industry and rightfully so.
