  • Creation of Adam

How did I never see that in Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, god is represented in a cross section of a human brain? Sister Wendy already hipped me to the flaccid “finger”, but the whole brain thing slipped right past. It’s so obvious and cool once it’s pointed out to you. Thanks MeFi.

  • Save the Date — Program

The Nuart in LA is going to be doing a showing of Tron on Friday, January 9. Imagine that, Tron on the big screen. The lights, the colors, the wonderfully 80s cheeseball graphics. That would be so cool. I hope my user will let me go … EOL

  • Painting with Light

Wow, the stuff PIPS:lab is doing is really interesting. I assume the lighting effects are being digitally added later. It sure would be cool if they were done at the time the photos were taken though. Anyway, check it out. It’s really quite interesting. Update: I take it back. After looking closer, I think the…

  • Oooh Pretty

Tim Davis’ Close-up Photos of trains are spectacular. They are some of the nicest, most organic looking abstracts I’ve seen in a while. Thanks Amberglow.

  • Hee Hee Hee You’re My Little Sack of Tators

I shouldn’t enjoy these songs as much as I do.

  • Icky

I’m not generally one to rail against musicians selling out to advertisers. I have to say though, there is just something so wrong about hearing a Cure song in a TV ad. I’m not even an exceptionally huge cure fan. It took “Friday I’m in Love” to even be able to develop an appreciation for…

  • That’s Too Bad

I was hoping I was going to like Rob Lowe’s new show, The Lyon’s Den. For entirely baseless reasons, I was hoping it would be as smartly written as West Wing. But, it’s just a silly soap opera. Are there any good new shows this season?

  • Get Thee To a Theater

If you have a chance, you should go out of your way to check out the movie, My Life Without Me. I think it may well be the best movie I’ve seen so far this year. It’s pretty sad, so if you’re the type to cry at the movies, you may want to take some…

  • My Hamster Doesn’t Like Singing

Making Fiends is sick and beautiful. Mmmm… Twisted Media. Thank you internet. And thank you Incoming Signals.

  • So, So, So Very Bad!!

Wow! The US version of Coupling is horrible. H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.!!!!! I knew it would suck, but I had no idea it could possibly be so stilted and unfunny. The weird thing is, most of the script seems to be taken straight from the UK version. Same jokes, but really just way less funny than the original.…
