A wimpy remake of an already anemic movie (the 1947 Rita Hayworth vehicle Down to Earth), this glitzy musical from 1980 improbably stars Olivia Newton-John as a heavenly muse sent here to help open a roller-derby disco.

I don’t even want the thing. I just heard a voice on the TV that sounded vaugely like Olivia Newton Johns, and I realized I didn’t have Xanadu, and suddenly I felt like I should. I think I may need an intervention of some sort. On the plus side it looks like my Gold Box is back. There’s never anything interesting in the thing, but I sure do miss it when it isn’t there for some reason.
